The UNITERRA program provides opportunities for Canadian citizens to volunteer abroad in their field of experience. We work with local partners in 13 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia, strengthening their capacity to successfully implement their social and economic development initiatives. Sectors include Agriculture, Animal Health, Dairy, Environment and more!
Volunteer placements last from 1 month to two years. Volunteers are not remunerated for their services. They do, however, receive a basic living allowance that is determined according to the cost of living in the host country. In addition to the living allowance, Uniterra covers the volunteers’ travel costs to and from the country of posting, and provides the volunteer with an insurance policy.

Le programme UNITERRA offre l’opportunité aux citoyens Canadiens de travailler volontairement à l’étranger dans leur secteur d’activité. Nous travaillons avec des partenaires locaux dans 13 pays d’Afrique, d’Asie et d’Amérique latine et les aidons à réaliser leurs propres initiatives de développement social et économique dans divers domaines, tels l’agriculture, la santé animale, le secteur laitier, l’environnement et bien d’autres !
Les postes de volontariat durent de quelques mois à deux ans. Les volontaires ne sont pas rémunérés pour leurs services, toutefois, ils reçoivent une allocation de subsistance de base déterminée selon le coût de la vie dans le pays d’accueil. En outre, Uniterra assume les frais de déplacement des volontaires vers et depuis leur poste et fournit une assurance.
